Until recently, I have thought of resiliency as stagnant. You're either resilient or you aren't. I would say "she is just resilient." As if it was something you were born with. My entire perspective on this has changed since I have tied it to the ability to regulate ourselves. Regulating our emotions is what allows space for resiliency. Being able to pause, reflect, and stay in the present is what allows for survival. It is really quite beautiful!!
